Kelly Flanagan
Registered Nurse, Holistic Nurse Coach & Consultant
Meet Kelly, (she/her) has been a registered nurse in Manitoba for the last 14 years. Kelly has also worked as a paramedic prior to becoming a nurse in 2009. Kelly has been working and living on the unceded traditional territories of the Cree, Dene, Oji-Cree, Inuit and Metis as a settler and as a member of the Red River Metis community. Kelly is offering services from Treaty 1 territory, and is dedicated to provide culturally competent care and in support of holistic health promotion within Indigenous and LGTBQ2S+ communities.
Kelly views clients as authentic individuals with unique strengths and abilities which will be their catalyst for growth, change, and healing. Through a holistic lens, she believes individuals are whole beings with the inclusion of the physical, mental, energetic and spiritual bodies, and that our wellness is often shaped by our experiences, social determinants, culture, and belief systems. Her values express that treating only one body within our system is incomplete, and strives to treat and facilitate healing throughout the whole human system. Kelly wishes to challenge the old paradigm of medicine by embracing a new paradigm which incorporates mindfulness, presence, deep listening, and inquisitive questioning into her practice.
Her gifts are often tailored to those who desire to be heard and supported by a member of an individual’s health care team, who want to incorporate a holistic lifestyle into their wellness plan, who would like assistance making decisions about their health, and those who desire to have more control and autonomy of their health and wellbeing. Kelly is a highly sensitive and empathic person, and can offer assistance to those who may identify as such also.
Outside of the office Kelly enjoys spending time outdoors at the lake, with her partner and their dog, golfing, cross country skiing, and yoga. She works as a student advisor with other nurses who are furthering their education to become holistic nurse coaches, and actively works at a Winnipeg hospital providing care in a post anesthesia recovery room.
Kelly is available to work in person or online, please contact her to book a discovery call or an initial session.
I help clients identify what is affecting them within all different areas of their lives, as well as their options for making things better or solving the issues altogether. I work with clients to create steps toward making a happier, healthier life.
I am a therapist for many reasons. When I see someone struggling, I genuinely want to help. It’s a way for me to show compassion, empathy and to support people. I am human and have struggled at times. I feel that my experiences help me to understand how my clients are feeling.
I am usually busy with my two children, 2 dogs and fifteen plants and counting. When I have down time I love listening to music, singing at the top of my lungs (when alone) and working on a project such as painting or building something. I love doing anything outdoors, especially in warm weather. In the summer you can find me swimming in a lake. I find water relaxing and grounding. I also love attend comedy shows and watch funny movies. I find laughing to be a great stress reliever.
