Exploring the relationship between inflammation in the body and depression.
Research has demonstrated a correlation between inflammation in the body and symptoms of depression. When inflammation is induced in healthy people, many of them develop symptoms of depression. This suggests that inflammation in the body may be a factor in the development of depression and anti-inflammatory interventions may be beneficial in reducing symptoms of depression in some people.
What can I do to minimize inflammation?:
- Movement can help to minimize inflammation in the body.
- Minimally processed, anti-inflammatory foods can reduce inflammation.
- Stress management strategies have been shown to reduce inflammation in the body as well.
- Prioritizing sleep is also crucial in regards to minimizing inflammation in the body.
If you are experiencing depression, there are many things that you can do that may help reduce or alleviate your symptoms. Many of these interventions benefit overall health as well.
