Aveeve Mclaughlin

Masters of Social Work, RSW

I’m glad you’ve landed here! My name is Aveeve (she/her) and I’ve been a social worker now for almost 20 years. I’ve worked in many different systems including community agencies, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and most recently in private practice for the last 5 years.

I am passionate about blending the art and science of therapy together: using evidence informed therapy techniques and recent scientific advances paired with highly attuned relational healing. I value collaborative, strengths based relationships with a focus on trust and safety in the therapy room. We work hard in therapy to sit with the bad, find the good and transform old patterns. Most importantly I want my clients to feel deeply understood and like somebody “gets” them.

In addition to welcoming clients struggling with anxiety and trauma I am privileged to bring lived experience and extensive training to experiences of reproductive and peri/postnatal mental health. With deep curiosity and compassion I welcome stories of infertility, miscarriage, birth trauma, reproductive surgery, postpartum adjustment and loss.

Outside of therapy I spend my time with my young family, volunteering in the community and am always trying to find time to finish a book. I’m a lapsed yogi, a lover of quiet walks and a definite introvert.
