How I Work

Recognizing that neurodevelopmental influence of trauma across the lifespan, Megan uses a body-based, sensory-enriched and an occupation-based approach in an trauma informed manner, thereby supporting the autonomic regulation, development, relational capacities, occupational participation and recovery process.

Somatic Experiencing helps reset the nervous system, restore inner balance, enhance resilience to stress and increase people’s ability to engage in their life.

To be able to provide a sense of safety, build regulation and trust through a therapeutic relationship is the best gift to give and receive. For anyone who has not experienced a relationship grounded in these key aspects, the opportunity to experience growth and “newness” is empowering.

Outside the Office

I love spending time with my family and friends. I get joy out of running with my dog and competing in adventure races. One of my favourite places to be in next to water, or under it, diving with the most amazing wildlife the world has to offer.

As Occupational Therapists, we may be trained to look for the sensory needs/challenges and find ways to meet or accommodate for them, however, if we do so out of context of relationships and attachment, we may miss the true meaning of the behaviour.
